VERY RARE - 2005 Disney Sleeping Beauty Storybook Treasure Box - LE of 2500 - MINT
This very rare, Limited Edition Disney Sleeping Beauty Storybook Treasure Box has been in my guest room unopened since purchased new in 2005!
This piece was commissioned from legendary Disney artist Jody Daily and is made of heavy, hand painted resin, metal, faux jewels, and thick, high quality paper. The original props used by the animators to create the beloved 1959 Disney animation classic, “Sleeping Beauty,” were retrieved from the Disney archives and carefully studied to produce this very accurate reproduction prop, that is also a functional jewelry box. I’ve only opened the box to inspect the piece and photograph it. If you see any white dots in the photos they’re likely tiny bits of styrofoam from the packaging.
To be clear, this is
NOT
one of the cheaply-made storybook
journals
that Disney has been selling recently. This is a much larger, heavier, more substantial piece with high art standards from a time 15 years ago when Disney produced high quality, collectible, limited edition art.
Just like the book from the animated classic, the cover of this book is golden, embossed like a bas relief, and covered in very realistic looking, multi-colored jewels. Although this piece is a functional jewelry box, it’s really intended as a stunning display piece. Opening the book reveals breathtaking artwork from the film and intricate calligraphy with the now famous introduction, “In a far away land long ago...”
This piece is big (12” x 10” closed and 12” x 21.5” open) and heavy (5+ pounds), so find a large, well-lit spot to display it and I’d recommend an accent light to really create a Disney-like experience for your guests, who will be blown away!

This piece has never been displayed and comes from my clean, smoke-free, pet-free home.
This piece is extremely rare and hard to find; there are currently no others like it on eBay.
There are very few of them left out there and even fewer that are brand new, like this one, with the original box and certificate of authenticity showing that it’s from a limited edition of 2500.
ABOUT COMBINED SHIPPING
I've received a few requests to combine shipping when people have purchased multiple items from me, however I'm unable to do so for the following reasons:
1) In order to list items with calculated shipping (as is the case with this item) I had to package each item for shipping and then measure and weigh the package before I listed the item. So this piece is already boxed for shipping by itself.
2) Most of the Disney collectibles I'm selling from my collection are fragile and placing more than one of them in a package will put them at risk for breakage during shipping.
So please understand that I can't offer combined shipping because of the above reasons.
