    Description

4387.  Original WW1 Navy bar for a WW1 Victory Medal.  First, a little history.
During WW1, The US Navy realized they needed bars for the WW1 Victory Medal.  Several companies were offered a potential contract for these bars.  One of those companies was BB&B, The Bailey Banks & Biddle company.  BB&B was a premier company most well known for making the US Army type 04 Medal of Honor.
From my research, BB&Bs bid was too high, and they didn't get the contract.  However, they had produced from 18 to 24 sets of bars.  This is one of those bars.
The TRANSPORT is one of the more common of all the WW1 Navy bars.  Add to it being a BB&B bar and this will be the centerpiece of a WW1 Victory Medal collection.
These were done in a dark chocolate color, supposedly to made the color of WW1 Collar discs.  Each one is stamped BB&B and BRONZE on the reverse.
I'm going to offer 6 different ones for sale, see my other listings.
    US Only.  E-mail questions.
